King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals awarded Faisal Manzoor Arain (Arabic: فيصل منظور آرائين) a MS degree in 2001. He was a major of Construction Engineering & Management, a program offered by the department of Construction Engineering & Management at the College of Environmental Design.
Dr. Faisal Manzoor Arain holds a Ph.D. in project management from School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore. He secured a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Master of Science degree in Construction Project Management. He has worked as an architect in Pakistan and as an architect and projects manager in Saudi Arabia. He was involved with Ministry of Education, Singapore for developing designs and management systems for school building projects in Singapore. Dr. Arain has worked as Director Projects, Projects Planning and Development Department, and Assistant Professor, Department of Management at Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, Pakistan.
Dr. Arain has consulted, researched and published widely in the discipline of Project Management and Design and Construction Management and has delivered invited lectures in various countries i.e., Canada, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. His research interests include designing educational spaces, design and construction interface issues, project management, and the development and application of knowledge-based systems for management of building projects.
Dr. Arain is the winner of the Donald S. Barrie Award 2005 conferred by Project Management Institute (PMI) USA. He is the first person in the Asia Pacific region to win this prestigious award. Dr. Arain enjoys a good research track record and have more than 60 papers published in both international refereed journals as well as conferences. He has also authored 2 books and 2 book chapters in construction project management domain.
Dr.Arain serves on editorial boards of several international research journals, he is the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Construction Project Management published by Nova Science Publishers Inc., USA. Dr. Arain is one of the panel judges for professional awards conferred by PMI, USA. Based on his achievements in the field of research and academia, Dr. Arain is listed in Who’s Who in Science and Engineering (9th Edition), Who’s Who in Asia, Who's Who in the World (25th Anniversary Edition) and Outstanding Scientists of the 21st Century.
